Our Farm

Pinnacle Farms is a half acre cut flower farm established in 2022. Located in the mountains of Waynesville, North Carolina. I, Jennifer Arrington, am the owner and farmer with the help of my husband, Stephen, who also co-owns and farms Pinnacle Mountain Orchards. We have 3 children, Sadie, Levi, and Ava who occasionally help out on the farm as well.

I have always loved growing flowers. When I was a child, my parents built my sister and I a small flower bed beside our playhouse, where we grew marigolds and salvia. In 2009 when Stephen and I were married, I was gifted 3 dahlia tubers. I didn’t know the first thing about dahlias, but I threw them in the ground and hoped for the best. Later that Fall as they began to bloom, I fell in love with the beautiful flowers that emerged. My dahlia addiction gradually grew from there for the next 12 years and by 2021 I was up to 120 dahlias in my garden. That August I decided to try my hand at selling a few dahlia bouquets at Stephen and his parent’s store, Barber Orchards Fruit Stand. I took 8 bouquets, and they sold out in less than an hour, from then I was hooked. I continued to sell my bouquets at Barber’s until frost that Fall. But I quickly realized, I needed more than just dahlias to fill my bouquets. So that November, I signed up for Lisa Mason Ziegler’s online flower farm school. I can honestly say I would not be farming at the level I’m at now without taking Lisa’s 6 weeks course. She started at the beginning and gave us all the tools to start a successful flower farm on any amount of land.

In 2022, I officially became a business and started selling my flowers from May until our first frost in October. I had approximately 230 dahlias and over 30 other flower varieties on my quarter acre of land. In 2023 I expanded and added our you-pick flower field at a location not too far from my farm. And in 2024 I will be moving the you-pick field to an even bigger location across the road from Barber Orchard Fruit Stand. I’ve enjoyed connecting with so many fellow flower lovers. And I give all the glory to God for the opportunity to be able to do what I love. I’m also so thankful for a husband that supports my dream and is willing to be the brawn of the outfit when I need him to be. There are big plans for Pinnacle Farms’ future and I look forward to growing cut flowers in Haywood County for many years to come!
