The you-pick is closed for the season 〰️

How does Pinnacle Farms’ You-pick work?

My NEW FIELD LOCATION for the 2024 season is at 2900 Old Balsam Road Waynesville, NC. Located directly across from Barber Orchards Fruit Stand. Here you can purchase a small vessel ($25) or bucket ($90). We have pruners that you may borrow or you’re welcome to bring your own. Please only borrow one pair of pruners per purchased vessel. Large buckets of water will be provided for you to dip your vessel or bucket into. Remember don’t fill it all the way up or it will be heavy to carry and slosh in your car when you head home. Then fill your vessel or bucket with whichever blooms you choose from the you-pick field. This is by cutting only, please don’t dig up the plants. The provided vessel or buckets are yours and you may take them home.

**New for 2024** If no one in your party purchases flowers, there will be a $5 entrance fee per person for ages 10 and up.

What if bring my own vase or bucket?

You may transfer your flowers to your own container after you have picked them in the ones I provide. But for pricing the size of the arrangement or buckets, you must ONLY use the containers I have provided.

When are you opened?

We are currently closed for the season. I hope to reopen sometime in June.

Weather permitting.

What is the cost?

As mentioned above, the vessels are $25 and the buckets are $90. If no one in your party purchases flowers, there is a $5 entry fee per person for ages 10 and up. This includes sale tax in the price.

What payments do you accept?

I use the Honor System and payments are collected at the white stand at the field. I accept cash and checks which is put into the locked box (sorry no change will be available). I also have a QR code you may scan and pay by debit/credit card on my website, PayPal or Venmo.

Can I bring my dog? Dogs are permitted in the outside of the field where the grass area only. No dogs are allowed in the flower rows. They must be kept on a lease at all times and are not permitted anywhere near the flowers or plastic mulch. Please clean up after your pets.

Can I walk thru the surrounding vegetable field and packing house area? I’m sorry but no. This is not part of my flower field and is not my property so please stay within the designated flower area. Picking any apples or vegetable in the surrounding area is not permitted and you will be asked to leave and not return. And may result in prosecution by the owners.

Photography: You’re welcome to take pictures on your own or with a professional photographer anytime that the field is open for picking. There is no addition fee, but I do require you to purchase a vessel or bucket of flowers to use my field for photography of any kind. Please keep in mind, there will most likely be other people in the field and my field has plastic for weed control. As well, as stakes and netting for plant support. It is not a wildflower field and but a maintained farm field. You can check out my website, Facebook, and Instagram pictures to make sure this is this setting you had in mind for your pictures. And don’t forget to tag the farm! I love seeing everyone’s beautiful pictures! For additional questions please contact me at PinnacleFarmsNC@gmail.com.

Resale: Resale of my flowers is allowed. However; you must give full credit of growth of the flowers to Pinnacle Farms. Claiming them as your own may result in legal action. By purchasing my flowers, you are agreeing to abide by these terms.

Closures: There may be occasions when I have to close my field on days we would normally be opened due to other farm work going on. If they are working in the adjoining row of apples or vegetables, no one will be allowed in my flower field at that time. I don’t expect this to happen often but please check my Facebook and Instagram page before you come just to be sure. Any closures due to the weather will also be posted on my social media.

Children must be kept under adult supervision at all times. Please to do not allow children under the age of 10 to use the clippers without close adult supervision. You may be asked to leave if failure to do so.

What flower varieties will you have?

First off, this could change due to the weather or crop failure. These are just the variety names; I will have lots of different colors of everything that is listed.

Zinnias, Marigolds, Snapdragons, Gomphrena, Statice, Ageratum, Celosia, Strawflowers, Craspedia, lemon scented Basil, Feathertop Grass, Calendula, Scabiosa, Verbena, Amaranthus, and Sunflowers and in late July, Dahlias!

Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for up-to-date info. All Closures/Changes will be posted on social media.

  • Flowers have the best vase life if cut in the morning (before 11am) or later in the evening. If you cut during the heat of the day they will not last as long. We have water available for the vessels/buckets. These flowers will wilt if you don’t place them in water right after you cut.

  • We have a few pairs of pruners, but if you have a pair go ahead and bring them.

  • Think of how you will transport your buckets home? Store milk boxes are great for the buckets. Flowers like Air Condition, but they don’t like open air. So, do not place them in the back of your truck.

  • Wear proper shoes/sandals. The rows are grass/dirt and the ground has some uneven places and lots of rocks. My field is not handicap accessible and may not be sustainable for people that have difficulty walking on uneven ground.

  • Some of the flowers are supported with a white plastic netting, PLEASE be careful and try not to cut this netting. Keep an eye on your children when they are using pruners.

  • NO Bathroom on site.
